Creative Worship 25.10.17

St James’ worship team delivered our creative worship this week on the theme “How do we know God loves us?”

We were joined by worship teams from St James’ Darwen and St Paul’s, Hoddlesden. The children had fun expressing their ideas in creative ways, using Lego, leaves and stickle bricks.

SPORTING NEWS!!

Last week was a great sporting week at St James’.

We all managed the first week of our Golden 15 Minutes and were very lucky with the weather. Hopefully it is starting to get a little easier?  Last Wednesday Mrs Blackburn and Miss Jackson accompanied 10 year 2 children and 2 Young Sports Leaders to QEGS for the KS1 Multi Skills Festival. Both children and staff really enjoyed the event and experienced some new sporting challenges. Behaviour was excellent (as always) and we brought home gold medals! A big thank you to our Young Sports Leaders Millie and Callum, who I am told did a great job supporting the children and scoring the events.

Last night our year 5/6 boy’s football team were in action again. We have had an amazing start to this season but due to illness the team was a couple of players down this week. We need not have worried. The remaining boys stepped up to the mark and won both games. The first 5-2 against St Edwards and the second 10-3 against Sudell. We are currently sitting at the top of the league. A huge well done to all our teams this week.

Mrs Wilton

A huge well done to all our teams this week.
