Tag Rugby Event

Tag Rugby Festival

On Wednesday 25thApril, a group of boys and girls from Y5 and Y6 went to Blackburn Rugby Club to take part in a tag rugby festival.  When we arrived at the event, all of the children were buzzing with excitement. Most of the children had never played tag rugby before so this was a special occasion for them.  The children played against six different schools throughout the event.  Even though the team had not had many practice sessions, they won all six games! Throughout the whole event, the children were a real asset to the school and represented the school brilliantly.

Parents and Children please be vigilant!

We have been informed by a local school, that earlier this week, some pupils were approached by a man in a white/silver car outside St Edward’s Primary School, Darwen.  He asked them to get into the car.  Police are aware and are investigating. We would just like to ask all parents and pupils to be vigilant.  Thank you.

Orienteering match report

Orienteering match report

On Wednesday afternoon, Mrs Bibby and Mrs Hibbert took six Y6 pupils to Feniscowles Rec to represent our school at the Blackburn with Darwen Orienteering Competition.  The weather conditions were perfect and once we arrived, our competitors were raring to go!  Our team was split into three pairs:  Kasey and Daniel P, Libby and Daniel S and Alfie and Archa.  They all set off sprinting in different directions.  They showed excellent teamwork, reading the maps and running from each different point.  Overall, our team came 5th out of 14 teams and as always, they did us proud with their excellent sportsmanship and behaviour.  Well done!

Cycling Event

Cycling Event

On Thursday, four of our Y5 children went to represent school at the annual cycling event. Two children had only learnt to ride a bike on Tuesday but were brave enough to agree to participate. Despite being anxious at first at the obstacle track, they went for it with great courage and determination! They then completed a team time trial and an individual time trial.
At the end of the event there were four enormous smiles from Rebecca, Daniel, Caiden and Mercedes as they had enjoyed the activities so much and most importantly they were beaming with pride! We are extremely proud of their attitude throughout the event and what they achieved.
