The Daily Mail’s Great Plastic Pick Up – FOR YEAR 5

On Monday 14th May, Year 5 are taking part in the Daily Mail’s Great Plastic Pick Up between 2.15pm – 3.00pm as part of our community action work.

We will be helping to clean up the area directly outside school between our field and the bridge.

On that day, children can come to school dressed in non-uniform. We will be going out whether it is raining or not so a coat (and wellies) is essential.

The children will be told what rubbish they are allowed to pick up and what they should leave.

I have added our litter pick the map on the Daily Mail website. You can find it in Google.

I need help on the day with adult supervision and am asking if you could spare us an hour. Please let Mrs Matthews know if you can help.

Many thanks,

Mrs Matthews

My Magic Sports Kit

Some interesting sporting research has been shared with us from our SGO.  Please take a moment to have a look.  We are very lucky to have such supportive parents in our school when we play competitive sports but it is interesting to see things through the children’s eyes.

Parents and Children please be vigilant!

We have been informed by a local school, that earlier this week, some pupils were approached by a man in a white/silver car outside St Edward’s Primary School, Darwen.  He asked them to get into the car.  Police are aware and are investigating. We would just like to ask all parents and pupils to be vigilant.  Thank you.
